‘Tis the Season to be Grateful
It’s the perfect time to sit down with a big hot cup of cocoa, a nice warm cozy blanket, and a computer to reflect on the world. The life I have been given. The past year and all the changes that have occurred. To acknowledge what I am grateful for this holiday season. It is almost Thanksgiving, after all, the ultimate time to be thankful for all that life has given us.
I found out recently that Thanksgiving wasn’t going to be the same this year for my family. My boyfriend’s relatives and my grandmother are both not having Thanksgiving at their houses. And to be honest, it makes me sad. I love spending time with my relatives. I’m not as close to them as I once was. But when holidays roll around, it feels like nothing has changed.
A day from today, we will be sitting down with loved ones celebrating Thanksgiving.
I’m grateful for…
Here is a list of just a few of the things I cherish this holiday season.
I am so thankful to have my family in my life. My daughter, my boyfriend, my dad, my little sister, everyone that I have in my life. I cherish them very much. My family is here for me when I need them. They help me with Violet when I need help with her. They buy her things she needs, they love her. My family adores my little girl. My father, her grandfather loves to play with her. They will set up the toy trains and watch them for hours. My boyfriend, her father plays with her. She loves her daddy. Violet is a daddies girl and she has her wrapped around her finger. My little sister treats my daughter well. She doesn’t want children of her own. I can’t blame her for that.
I am grateful for every day I wake up. It is a blessing in itself. I am grateful to be alive. To be able to live my life. I know right now I am struggling in life. But I know that I am not alone. I have people in my life who care for me. My life has given me many things to be thankful for. I am thankful that I am here to witness and be a part of my daughter’s life as she grows up. My life has given me love. I love my boyfriend with all my heart. He is the most caring, amazing, man I have ever met. My life has given me hope. I know that even when I am struggling that there is a bright side at the end of the tunnel. I am truly grateful for my life.
He is the reason I smile. The reason I laugh so hard. Andrew is the reason I do silly things. He loves me. He loves our daughter even if she is not his blood. My boyfriend is an amazing man. He will do whatever it takes to make sure his two girls are taken care. He cares for me. I know he will protect me. I know that I am safe when I am with him. Violet is safe when she is with him. He would do anything to make us happy. He supports us. My boyfriend does all that he can.
Andrew if you ever read this post, I want you to know that I love you very much. I love how you look at me. The butterflies I still get when I’m around you. The way you rub my hair at night that helps me go to sleep. I could go on and on about everything I love about you. You are an amazing father. You are an amazing boyfriend. Violet and I are very lucky to have you in our lives. I am so grateful to have found a man like you. A true gem in the rubble.
I am grateful to have Murphy, our black fluff ball in my life. I love animals as I am sure you all know by now. So it should come at no surprise that I grateful to have my cat in my life. He can tell when we aren’t feeling well. He loves to get scratches and pets. Murphy is such an awesome cat. My little sister calls him her son. The two have a very special bond. When she leaves the house, he waits on the stairs for her to return. As soon as he hears her voice, he comes running for her. Murphy loves my sister. I love when he purrs. It is such a happy sound.
I am relatively healthy. I don’t have any health issues that I know of. It is a great feeling to know that I am healthy. I appreaciate it so much. Sure there are the times that I get sick. I get a cold and it feels like I am dying. When I get like that it is never a fun feeling. But I know deep in my soul, even if I don’t want to admit it. That I will survive the cold and be healthy once again. I eat farily well. It is hard for me thought because chocolate is so damn addicting. I am grateful for my health.
It’s always nice to go somewhere and have the exact change you need to pay for something. I love that feeling. Of course if its a large amount, the cashier may give you an annoyed look. I am grateful for loose change.
The Way Coffee Smells
I am going to be perfectly clear, I do not like the way coffee tastes. However, I do enjoy the way it smells. My sisters boyfriend currently lives wih us and he drinks coffee. So if I’m here, I get to smell that fresh brewed yumminess. I wish I liked coffee. I am grateful for the way coffee smells.
My Best Friend
I do not have a lot of friends. But the one I cherish the most is my best friend, Amanda. We have known each for a very long time. When we met, we lived across the street from one another. And we have been best friends ever since. When I found out in 2004, that her family was moving to Florida. I ran into her home, hugged one of the walls in her house, and said ” Goodbye Wall” or something like that. A year later, my family moved to Florida to. We didn’t stay there long and did all eventually move back to Pennsylvania. But our friendship has lasted. We don’t always get to talk to one another because both our lives keep us pretty busy. But I am grateful to have a best friend like her.
I am grateful for chocolate. It’s always such a wonderful treat.
Adult Coloring Books
I enjoy coloring in my adult coloring book. I’m not sure if it provides me with stress relief. However, I do think it is a lot of fun to do. It really allows my creative side to come out. My boyfriend has gotten me two of these books. I haven’t even made it through one yet. I am grateful for adult coloring books.
