5 Things I Love
Five Things I Absolutely Love
First off, I just wanted to say sorry for how absent I have been on the blog lately. I’ve been so busy stressing over life so much. It’s hard for me to find to be motivated/inspired to write. How do you guys deal with the stress of life and running a blog and being a mom?
I’ll be honest. I had a hard time narrowing down my list to five things I love. There are just so many things to love. I love life. Life is kind of amazing like that. The world gives you so much to live for. So much to love. So much to enjoy in life.
Life is Strange
Life is funny like that. I mean especially since right now I am struggling a bit. I find it harder to enjoy it. It’s hard. There’s no doubt about it. I know as a mom, my daughter counts on me to make sure she what she needs. Sometimes I don’t know how I’ll pay the bills or put food on the table.
Ah, chocolate. Oh, glorious, amazing, mouthwatering chocolate. I just love chocolate. I know it’s not that great for you. But it’s a nice treat to have every now and then. I would have to say my favorite brand of chocolate is Grutadge Hawk and Lindt Truffles. The peanut butter smidgens are the best. I also love the way the truffles literally melt in your mouth.
My Saturn Ion
I know that Saturns are no longer being made. But I really love my car. It does fairly well in the snow. And it is a manual, so I definitely feel pretty empowered when I drive it. The one thing my dad always taught me was a car will last if it is maintained and taken care of.
Also a side a benefit, it’s always disclosing this information about myself. A lot of people always seem to be surprised and impressed by my ability to drive manual.
I discovered bullet journaling about a year ago. At first, when I heard of it, I was confused as to what it was. Turns out for me its an organizers dream come true. I love creative you can be with a bullet journal. You have complete control over what is inside your bullet journal. I love setting up my calendar for each new week. I’ll make note of anything I want to accomplish day to day. It helps me keep track of it all. I love it very much.
I’ll admit. I have a very soft place in my heart for animals. My entire life, I have grown up with animals in the house. My grandfather also taught me to love and respect nature. I currently have a cat, Murphy. He is the best. He is one of those I only want love and affection when I want you to love me and give me affection. Murphy is going to be ten years old soon. The funny thing is, he still acts like a kitten. When we adopted him from the shelter two years ago, they had called him a senior cat. To be honest, I don’t agree. He doesn’t act like an older cat.
There is nothing better than sitting down on the couch and opening a good book. I love to read. However, I don’t get to do it nearly as much as I would like to. Reading is one of my favorite past times. Since I am a new mom, I tend to read to my daughter at bedtime some nights. I feel I should definitely do it more. She seems to really enjoy that time together spent reading. Its a great way to bond. It’s also good for her because it helps her learn. As a mother, that is what we want for our children. We want them to learn, grow, and prosper. Reading helps us grow their minds and their imaginations.
The thing I love most of all.
I love being a mom. I love having my daughter in my life. She makes me want to be a better person. Violet is my whole life now. I want her to be proud to have a have me as a mom someday. I want her to look up to me. My daughter is what keeps me going when times get hard. I just want her to give her the best life I can. Motherhood is hard. Parenting is hard. Sometimes I wonder how my parents did it. They had two wonderful children who have grown into two amazing women. It’s amazing to think how far we both have come.
I worry all the time that I’m not doing a good job as a mother. I worry all the time that I’m failing my little Violet. As a mom, I know that being perfect is not possible. I can only try to do my best. And in the end, that has to be good enough.
My boyfriend also plays such an important role in Violet and I’s life. He’s there for us. He loves us unconditionally. Andrew loves our little girl. He’s patient with her when she throws her tantrums. Andrew brighten’s my day when he knows I am sad. He will kiss me until I start to smile and feel better. I am grateful for every moment I get to spend with him. I love watching him Violet. He is such an amazing father. Violet adores her dadda. She is such a daddy’s girl. That little girl has him wrapped around her finger.
What about you?
What are some of your favorite things? Do you have five things you love? What do you cherish in this world? Is it the small moments with your family that make being a parent, a mother, a grandparent, a dad, worth every second of all the bad moments.
